Celebrating Our Wins
It’s hard to believe that October 1st marked exactly one year since we opened our first office in the United States at the Research Park at Florida Atlantic University, and I have been extremely proud to work alongside our team here.
One of the highlights from this past year, was having the privilege and honor of representing our amazing company, DNALabs, in California on the set of Worldwide Business with Kathy Ireland. If you did not get a chance to watch our interview, check it out here and for additional behind the scenes, watch our Q+A here!
When we told people we were going to meet with Kathy Ireland, people were both amazed, as they had looked up to her for many years! Like many celebrities, many of us look up to them, for many reasons. However, at the end of the day, celebrities are human beings just like us. World Mental Health Day is on October 10, 2022. Although we are slowly starting to put COVID-19 behind us, the negative effects on our mental health for many have been here to stay. World Mental Health Day 2022 will give an opportunity to improve our mental health. The stigma around prioritizing our mental health has continued to cause an obstacle to access proper care. Our mental health is just as important as our physical health and should be taken just as seriously, so that everyone can have access to the proper mental health care needed.
Would you believe me if I told you that MANY celebrities suffer from mental health battles? More and more celebrities are speaking out about their mental health struggles over the years. “The problem with mental illness is people don’t look at it as a physical illness. When you think about it, the brain is the most complex organ in your body. We need to treat it like a physical illness and take it seriously”- Demi Lovato
“We take care of our dental health. We don’t take care of our mental health.”- Howie Mandel, who has long been open about his mental health issues including OCD, ADHD, and Depression.
“What are you fighting against? Just the stigma of using a tool? A mental illness is a thing that people cast in a different category [from other illnesses], but I don’t think it is. It should be taken as seriously as anything else. You don’t see the mental illness: It’s not a mass; it’s not a cyst. But it’s there. Why do you need to prove it? If you can treat it, you can treat it.”- Amanda Seyfried. In fact, Seyfried has been on Lexapro (Escitalopram/ Cipralex) since she was 19 years old and says she will never get off it. Our MatchMyMeds™ Drug Compatibility test, covers Lexapro, in addition to many other anti-anxiety & anti-depression drugs for those of you struggling to find the right medication at the right dose! Our mental wellbeing is a key component of our overall health, encompassing our emotional, psychological, and social states.
